Woman Accuses Delivery Driver of Stealing Laptop
An ordinary courier service turned into a nightmare for an Indian couple, prompting one woman to share her alarming experience on LinkedIn.
Nishitha Gudipudi, a resident of Hyderabad, recounted a troubling incident involving a local courier service. She claimed that her husband arranged for the pickup and delivery of his rucksack, which contained a laptop, from one office to another in Madhapur.
According to Nishitha, the delivery driver picked up the bag but appeared to open it midway, discovering the laptop. He then switched off his phone and stole the laptop. Nishitha initially thought there might have been an error on their part for using the service but was horrified by how the situation unfolded.
When they contacted customer service, the response was unsettling. The courier service provided two images of potential suspects and asked the couple to identify the thief, but they couldn’t recognize the delivery person.
The situation escalated when the driver was finally contacted via WhatsApp. He claimed his account had been used by a friend and promised to look into it. Shortly after, the same number sent a message demanding the return of the laptop in exchange for Rs 15,000.
Nishitha’s post has since gone viral, raising concerns about the safety and security of courier services.
