May 31, 2024

According to the Met Department’s weather forecast, intense heat will persist in the southern districts of the country. However, areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar, and northeast Punjab may experience rainfall.

The department has warned that southern Punjab, along with most areas in Balochistan and Sindh, will face a severe heatwave. Residents in these regions are advised to take precautions against heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated.

Rainfall is expected in certain areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Mansehra.

Most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will continue to experience extremely hot weather. Islamabad will also be hot during the day, with a possibility of rain in the evening.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a strong advisory on Thursday for June, alerting residents of Sindh and Punjab to prepare for an extreme heatwave.

Umarkot, Tharparkar, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, and Sanghar in Sindh, as well as Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur in Punjab, are forecasted to experience scorching temperatures.
