Renowned Pakistani actor Mazhar Ali has passed away at the age of 66 in Karachi, as confirmed by his family. The actor had been battling cardiac issues and had recently undergone treatment for his heart condition.
In a statement to Geo News, Mazhar’s sister, Ahla Imran, revealed that he had been hospitalized three weeks ago due to his health problems. “He had a fever last night and passed away in his sleep,” she shared.
Mazhar is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son, who are currently residing in the United States. His sister mentioned that he had planned to return to the US recently, but his health had prevented him from doing so. She noted that he had not been active in the acting industry for the past five to six years due to his declining health.
His funeral prayer is scheduled to be held today at Tayyaba Mosque in Nazimabad No. 3 after Maghrib. Mazhar Ali was a significant figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, known for his remarkable performances in numerous dramas, particularly those aired on PTV.
