The Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, will visit Islamabad on May 8th and 9th, 2024, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s announcement on Tuesday.

During the visit, Minister Saidov will meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and have detailed discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on various bilateral matters, with a focus on trade and connectivity.

This visit is expected to strengthen the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

In other news, there are reports that the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud, may visit Pakistan sometime this month. If the visit occurs, it will be the first time in five years that the Saudi Crown Prince has visited Pakistan. The visit is anticipated to include the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth $5 billion in investment. Dates for the visit are still being finalized.

This visit will mark the third face-to-face meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia within a period of five weeks.

Additionally, a high-level trade delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Deputy Minister for Investment Ibrahim al-Mubarak, recently visited Pakistan to explore investment opportunities across various sectors and strengthen ties with local entrepreneurs. The Saudi delegation consisted of about 50 members, representing approximately 35 companies from various economic sectors.
