Mashreq Bank has launched a mountain clean-up mission in Pakistan as part of its global Climb2Change initiative. The mission will focus on cleaning K2 and Broad Peak (K3), as well as the base camps at Goro2 and Concordia.

The Climb2Change initiative aims to clean 14 of the world’s highest mountains, including summiting 7 peaks and cleaning base camps for the remaining 7. The Pakistan expedition, running from June to August 2024, will feature climbers Maria Conceicao and Naila Kiani, who has summited 11 of the world’s 14 highest peaks.

Mashreq’s Group CEO, Ahmed Abdelaal, highlighted the initiative’s goal of addressing waste and ecological imbalance on these iconic peaks, working with climbers, local communities, and employees.

Naila Kiani expressed her pride in partnering with Mashreq to advocate for environmental conservation, while Maria Conceicao shared her excitement, aligning the mission with her lifelong commitment to philanthropy and education.

This expedition follows successful clean-up efforts in Nepal, where five high peaks and one base camp were cleaned, promoting environmental conservation and public awareness.
