Recently, Raeli media reported that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) decided to stop diplomatic work with Israel. This decision came after Israeli forces killed seven aid workers in Gaza.
Officials in Tel Aviv, where Israel’s government is, said the UAE’s foreign ministry criticized Israel’s ambassador strongly for what happened.
Israel’s Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, called UAE’s Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, to discuss the situation.
Israel’s Director General of the Foreign Ministry, Yaakov Blitshtein, also met with UAE’s Ambassador Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Khaja to try to fix the situation.
Ambassador Al-Khaja said this is the worst it has ever been between the two countries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the workers’ deaths were an accident.
Remember, UAE was one of the countries that signed the Abraham Accord with the US in September 2020, aiming to improve relations with Israel.
