UAE Accelerates Work Permit and Residency Visa Processing
The UAE has greatly sped up processing times for work permits and residency visas. Canceling work permits now takes just 45 seconds, down from 3 minutes, and processing work permits and residency visas has been reduced from 30 days to just 5 days.
These changes are part of the second phase of the ‘Work Bundle’ platform, which simplifies hiring and renewing work permits for businesses. The first phase launched in Dubai in March and is now expanding to all seven emirates. This improvement will benefit about 600,000 companies and over seven million workers.
The ‘Work Bundle’ platform also streamlines various services, including issuing new work permits, adjusting statuses, handling visas and employment contracts, Emirates IDs, residency, and medical exams.
