Security forces in Swat conducted a successful operation on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists and the arrest of another in the Charbagh area, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operation, which was based on intelligence reports, is part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the country. During the exchange of fire, one of the deceased was identified as Attaullah, alias Mehran, a known terrorist linked to several high-profile attacks, including a landmine incident targeting a convoy of foreigners on September 22.
In addition to the fatalities, another terrorist was injured and taken into custody. Security forces are intensifying search operations in the area to locate any remaining militants, as ISPR emphasized the military’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted intelligence-based operations across various cities in the province, arresting 18 suspected terrorists amid rising security threats. These operations took place in cities such as Lahore, Khushab, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, and Mianwali.
Authorities reported that three terrorists were apprehended in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, with weapons, ammunition, and banned literature recovered.
