In a concerning development, two more children have been paralyzed by poliovirus in Pakistan.
According to the Regional Reference Laboratory at the National Institute of Health in Islamabad, the latest cases involve a female child from Zhob district in Balochistan and a male child from Tank district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This brings the total number of polio cases reported in the country this year to 28.
