A group of important businesspeople from Turkey visited Pakistan and got really interested in Pakistan’s airports. They checked out the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and are planning to visit the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

These investors are eager to take over the contracts to manage and run the airports. The Pakistani government had already decided to let private companies handle the operations of three big airports: Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

Investors from different countries like Germany, France, Netherlands, Qatar, UAE, Malaysia, and Turkey, as well as local groups, are also interested in this opportunity.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) decided to give companies more time to submit their bids for managing Islamabad International Airport.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the whole process will be transparent. Initially, Pakistan wants to involve private companies in running some commercial parts of Islamabad International Airport through Public Private Partnership (PPP).

The government is also working on improving facilities at airports in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore to make traveling better for everyone. They believe this move will help Pakistan’s economy grow faster and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors.
