Trump Vows to Pursue Google's Prosecution if Elected

Former President Donald Trump, currently running as the Republican candidate, announced on Friday that he would seek the prosecution of Google if he wins the upcoming election on November 5. He claims the tech giant selectively displays negative stories about him while favoring positive coverage of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump asserted, “It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose.” He called this an “illegal activity” and expressed hope that the Justice Department would prosecute Google for what he describes as blatant election interference. “If not, I will request their prosecution to the fullest extent of the law when I win and become president,” he added.

Google has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding Trump’s statements.

This isn’t the first time Trump has raised concerns about Google. In 2019, he claimed on Twitter, now known as X, that the company favored negative news coverage of him during the 2016 election, a claim Google dismissed at the time. Recently, some of Trump’s supporters have revived similar allegations, including Elon Musk, who accused Google of imposing a search ban on Trump shortly after an assassination attempt on him in July.
