Trump Confirms He Won't Run Again If He Loses November Elections

In a recent interview, Republican Donald Trump stated that he will not seek a fourth consecutive run for the presidency if he loses the upcoming November 5 election, declaring, “that will be it.” This comment came during his appearance on Sharyl Attkisson’s “Full Measure” program, where he emphasized his hope for success in the election.

Trump, 78, is in a tight race against Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, with polls indicating a competitive battle in key battleground states. Although Harris has begun to gain traction in nationwide polls, the election outcome remains uncertain.

Reflecting on his political journey, Trump launched his first reelection bid on the day of his inauguration in 2017 and announced his latest campaign in November 2022. Despite facing federal and state criminal charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results—a loss he continues to attribute to widespread voter fraud—he maintains that these legal challenges are politically motivated attacks.

As the campaign unfolds, Trump has also diversified his business ventures, including Trump Media, NFTs, and other branded products. In contrast, Harris is focusing her campaign on critical issues impacting families, framing the election as pivotal for U.S. democracy.

When asked if taking a four-year break from the presidency helped him reassess his allies, Trump remarked, “It would have been easier if I did it … contiguous,” but acknowledged that the experience revealed the shortcomings of previous associates.

Trump also mentioned that it is “too early” to consider potential appointments for a future cabinet, should he win the election.
