Torrential rains have devastated Balochistan, resulting in 29 fatalities and 15 injuries, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), as reported by ARY News.
The rains, which began on July 1, have severely damaged infrastructure and crops. The PDMA report highlights:
– Destroyed and Damaged Homes: 858 houses were completely destroyed, and 13,896 were partially damaged. Crop and Road Damage: 58,799 acres of crops and 41 kilometers of roads have been affected. – **Other Damage:** Seven bridges were damaged, and 373 animals have died due to the heavy rains.
The monsoon season continues to affect cities across Pakistan. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning of more rainfall in coastal regions of Sindh over the next 24 hours. Fishermen are advised to stay out of the open sea for the next 48 hours due to severe weather conditions.
The forecast includes rain for several areas such as Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Ullah Yar, Matiari, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu, and Shahid Benazirabad.
