Hey there, fellow Google users! Let’s talk about Google’s Smart Compose feature. Now, for some of us, it’s a real lifesaver, but for others, those auto-suggestions can be a bit of a headache. You know what I mean, those little text bits that pop up, trying to guess what you’re going to type next.

Sure, when you’re banging out work emails, it can speed things up a bit. But when you’re pouring your heart out in a personal email or crafting the perfect blog post, those suggestions can totally throw you off your game.

So, here’s the lowdown on how to kick Smart Compose to the curb:

If you’re using Google Docs:

  1. Open up Google Docs in your web browser.
  2. Click on “Tools” and then hit up “Preferences.”
  3. Look for the “General” tab.
  4. You’ll see a bunch of options—find “Smart Compose Suggestions” and give that box a little uncheck.
  5. And hey, while you’re at it, you can also turn off “Smart Reply Suggestions” if you’re feeling extra rebellious.

Now, if you’re using Gmail on your computer:

  1. Head over to Gmail and click on “Settings.”
  2. Choose “See all Settings.”
  3. Click on the “General” tab.
  4. Find “Smart Compose” and flick those suggestions off.
  5. And guess what? You can also wave goodbye to “Smart Compose Personalization” and “Smart Reply” right here.

And for all you mobile Gmail users out there:

  1. Open up the Gmail app and tap on “Settings.”
  2. Look for the option to turn off Smart Compose and give it a little tap.

There you have it—no more pesky suggestions cramping your style!
