The Legend of Maula Jatt' to Finally Release in India on October 2
The acclaimed Pakistani blockbuster *The Legend of Maula Jatt*, starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hamza Ali Abbasi, is set to hit Indian theaters on October 2. The announcement was made on the film’s official Instagram account, where the creators expressed excitement: “The Legend of Maula Jatt’s legacy lives on! Watch this cinematic masterpiece in Indian theatres starting October 2, 2024. Book your tickets now!”
They also mentioned, “P.S. Cinema lists to be shared soon.”
Originally scheduled for a December 2022 release, the film faced indefinite delays. Zee Studios, which holds the distribution rights, had initially planned screenings in Delhi and Punjab but remained quiet following the postponement. While the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has yet to make a formal announcement, sources suggest that theater listings will follow once clearance is secured.
There were earlier reports of opposition from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), although the Punjab Censor Board is expected to approve the film.
The Legend of Maula Jatt premiered on October 13, 2022, and has since achieved historic success, grossing over Rs 4 billion worldwide by August 2023. This makes it the first Pakistani film to reach such a milestone. Its upcoming release in India marks a significant event, as it will be the first Pakistani film in Indian theaters in over a decade, following Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol.
With its impressive box office performance and star-studded cast, Indian fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival on the big screen.
