China’s electric vehicle (EV) leader, BYD, is teaming up with a local company, Mega Conglomerate Private Limited, to bring their cars to Pakistan.
They sealed the deal at a conference in Xi’an, China, with representatives from both sides signing on the dotted line. BYD’s Liu Xueliang and Zhang Jie joined hands with Mega’s Aly Khan to make it official.
Liu Xueliang, the General Manager of BYD’s Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, aims to introduce Pakistanis to the latest eco-friendly car tech, hoping to shake up the country’s car scene.
Aly Khan is thrilled about the partnership, seeing it as a big step towards making electric vehicles popular in Pakistan, which would help in making transportation more sustainable.
As part of the deal, they plan to open three major BYD showrooms in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad by 2024. These showrooms won’t just display BYD’s cool new electric cars but also offer a smooth buying experience, allowing customers to place orders directly.
