Terrorist Attacks: 10 Dead, Several Injured
Kalat was struck by a series of coordinated terrorist attacks late last night, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, including security officials, and leaving several others injured. The attacks targeted multiple locations, including a tribal home, a toll plaza, a hotel, and a hospital.
The violence erupted when terrorists raided a tribal person’s house, followed by assaults on the toll plaza, a nearby hotel, and a hospital. Security forces swiftly responded, leading to a fierce gunfight with the attackers.
In the clash, four Levies personnel and a police officer were martyred, along with five civilians who lost their lives in the crossfire. Kalat SSP Dostain Dashti confirmed that several others were injured and have been rushed to local hospitals for treatment. Despite the response, the terrorists managed to escape, and a search operation is currently underway to apprehend them.
Authorities have ramped up security measures in the region, and the situation remains tense as the search continues. The attacks have drawn widespread condemnation and concern, prompting local leaders to call for immediate action against the perpetrators.
Earlier in the day, a similar act of violence occurred in the Musakhel area of Balochistan, where terrorists intercepted a passenger bus and killed 23 people after checking their identity cards. The bodies of the victims have been transported to local hospitals, and a heavy contingent of Levies and police responded to the incident.
