Sindh is set to establish 300 digital microschools, aiming to enroll 300,000 out-of-school children across the province. Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced this initiative, which will also involve hiring over 600 female learning facilitators and comes with an approved budget of Rs800 million.

This move was decided during a Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) board meeting, attended by key officials including Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah and SEF Managing Director Kazi Kabir. The microschools will use smartphones and tablets to bring education to underprivileged children, modernizing the traditional one-room schoolhouse model.

The Chief Minister also approved the expansion of the Accelerated Digital Learning Programme (ADLP) in partnership with the Teach the World Foundation, with Phase II planned to span three years. This follows the success of the initial ADLP pilot in 2023, which received Rs710 million to support around 12,500 learners.

Mr. Shah has tasked SEF with enrolling 300,000 children by 2025 through these new digital microschools, highlighting a significant step towards improving education access in Sindh.
