KARACHI: All private and public schools in Sindh are reopening on Thursday following an extended summer break. The provincial government had extended the break until August 14, though schools were originally scheduled to reopen on July 31 after summer vacations began on June 1.

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah urged students to concentrate on their studies and reminded teachers to fulfill their duties diligently. He highlighted that merit-based recruitment has enhanced the education system and mentioned that Sindh is implementing a new teachers’ licensing policy, along with other reforms.

“This policy is a first in the country and is part of our efforts to set new standards for educational excellence,” the minister noted.

Last year, Sindh introduced the teaching license policy to ensure the employment of skilled professionals in education. The minister described these measures as “revolutionary steps” aimed at improving the quality of education.
