Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced a plan to provide solar-powered electricity to households in Sindh that are not connected to the main power grid. This initiative is aimed at helping those without access to regular electricity.
Additionally, people who use between 50 and 100 units of electricity from the grid will get their power for free. This move is intended to lower energy costs for households with low electricity usage.
Energy Minister Nasir Shah noted that 80,000 households in Sindh use about 50 megawatts of power each month. There are 2.6 million off-grid households in the province, and 500,000 of these are eligible for solar energy.
The Chief Minister has asked the energy minister to create detailed plans for building solar parks and installing home solar systems. This effort is part of a larger strategy to improve energy access and support sustainable energy solutions in Sindh.
By focusing on solar energy, the government aims to provide a reliable and eco-friendly electricity source, especially for those who currently do not have any.
