The Sindh government has unveiled a free air ambulance service to enhance patient care in remote areas. Initially, this service will operate between Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, and Karachi, with future plans to extend coverage to Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana.
At the signing ceremony for the air ambulance agreement between the Sindh Local Council Association and ASSL, Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani highlighted the importance of this initiative. They noted that the air ambulance service aligns with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision and represents a significant advancement for healthcare in Sindh.
Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah pointed out the difficulties in transporting patients from cities as far as six hours away from Karachi. He expressed relief that this new service will address these challenges. He also recalled past incidents, such as the tragic death of journalist Jan Muhammad Mehr due to delays in patient transfer, underscoring the critical need for timely medical intervention.
The introduction of the air ambulance service marks a pivotal development for Sindh, ensuring that patients in remote areas can access urgent medical care when they need it most.
