The Sindh government has launched a program offering interest-free loans to the middle class for installing solar systems.

Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah announced this initiative during a media address at his residence, where he also conveyed Eid greetings and urged the nation to honor martyrs.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the region and highlighted the government’s budgetary efforts to address these issues. He assured that ongoing projects are prioritized, and commitments to the public will be fulfilled.

Shah emphasized the government’s commitment to providing clean water across Sindh and noted that over 200,000 homes in the province still lack electricity. To address this, the government aims to electrify 500,000 people annually, starting with providing solar systems to the most needy households capable of powering a fan and three bulbs.

Additionally, the government will offer interest-free loans to those interested in independently installing solar systems, with the interest covered by the Sindh government. Shah also disclosed plans to build two grid stations in each district of Sindh to enhance the region’s energy infrastructure.
