The Sindh government has officially declared a public holiday on September 17 (Tuesday) to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal.
A notification issued on Thursday confirms that all government offices and educational institutions across the province will be closed in observance of this significant day.
This announcement is in line with similar decisions by the Punjab and federal governments, which have also recognized September 17 as a public holiday for the celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
In conjunction with the holiday, the Sindh government has implemented a ban on pillion riding on motorcycles in major cities, including Karachi, due to security concerns.
Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has been vocal about the importance of Rabi ul Awwal. On Thursday, he reached out to both the Prime Minister and the Sindh Chief Minister, advocating for a heightened celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi and suggesting the consideration of an additional public holiday on the 11th of Rabi ul Awwal.
