Sindh Announces Holiday for Schools and Colleges on August 26
The Sindh Education Department has declared a holiday for all public and private schools across the province on Monday, August 26, in observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
The decision, confirmed by a notification from the department’s steering committee, marks the 40th day since the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala. The Chehlum will be observed throughout the province with religious reverence and increased security measures.
Mourning processions will be held in various cities and towns to honor the martyrs. In Karachi, the main procession will begin at Nishtar Park and proceed along its traditional route, culminating at the Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
