Karachi: A sewerage line explosion near New Sabzi Mandi in Karachi has resulted in injuries to at least one person, according to ARY News.

The blast, which occurred close to a bank, shattered glass windows of nearby shops and buildings, and caused damage to parked motorcycles and cars in the vicinity.

This incident follows a similar event earlier where a sewerage line explosion in Lasbela, a coastal district of Balochistan near Karachi, injured eight people. That explosion was attributed to gas trapped in the sewerage line, causing burns to several individuals and damaging a hotel and several constructions.

In a related event, in December 2021, a powerful explosion caused a partial collapse of a factory-like building at Shershah Paracha Chowk in Karachi. This tragic incident resulted in 15 fatalities, including the father of former PTI MNA Alamgir Khan, and injured 12 others. The explosion was suspected to be gas-related and occurred in a building constructed on a sewerage line, leading to significant damage to surrounding vehicles and structures.
