Saudi Arabia Relaxes Visa Rules for Pakistanis

By

Jul 4, 2024

Saudi Arabia has simplified its tourist visa requirements for Pakistani travelers. Applicants now need to show a bank statement with a minimum balance of USD 750 per month.

Pakistani visits to Saudi Arabia increased by 43 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year. Saudi Arabia aims to welcome 2.7 million Pakistani visitors in 2024.

To handle this growing number, Saudi Arabia has made it easier for Pakistani travelers to get a visa through one of six Tasheer offices in Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan. These offices offer visa application help, biometric enrollment, status tracking, and passport delivery. Travelers can book appointments on the Tasheer website.

Saudi Arabia has also introduced a transit visa for travelers arriving on Saudia and Flynas flights, allowing them to explore the country for up to 96 hours. Visa on arrival is available for travelers with a valid and used UK, US, or Schengen visa.

Last year, Saudi Arabia introduced a one-year multiple-entry visa for Pakistani travelers. This visa is for personal visits like attending weddings or visiting friends and family. It allows multiple trips within a year and includes the option to perform Umrah.

This relaxed visa policy aims to encourage Pakistani travelers to visit Saudi Arabia, whether to see loved ones, perform Umrah, or explore the country’s diverse attractions, from Riyadh’s city life to Jeddah’s culture and the natural beauty of AlUla.
