Saudi Arabia Announces New Health Rules for Hajj 2025

Aug 30, 2024

Saudi Arabia has introduced new health guidelines for the Hajj pilgrimage in 2025 to ensure the safety of all pilgrims.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has advised that only those in good health will be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage. Individuals with serious health conditions such as kidney, heart, lung, or liver diseases, cancer, dementia, infectious diseases like tuberculosis, as well as children under 12 and pregnant women, will be barred from traveling.

This precaution is due to the harsh weather conditions during the Hajj season. Along with the health restrictions, pilgrims must also be vaccinated against meningitis, COVID-19, seasonal influenza, and polio.
