RTA to Fund Education for Students Born on Dubai Metro's Inauguration Date
As the Dubai Metro approaches its 15th anniversary, the celebrated driverless train system, which began operating on September 9, 2009, is set to recognize those born on its launch date, dubbed “Metro babies.”
On Monday, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that selected Metro babies might be eligible for academic sponsorships to support their higher education.
To qualify, candidates must:
– Be UAE Nationals
– Have been born on September 9, 2009
– Maintain a cumulative GPA above 90%
In addition, Metro babies born between 2009 and 2023 are invited to join a special celebration at Legoland Dubai on September 21, 2024.
