Starting Saturday, August 3, Dubai Metro will run separate trains for Expo 2020 and UAE Exchange stations. Passengers should check the display screens at stations to board the correct train for their destination.
Earlier, the RTA planned to add a Y junction on the Red Line, connecting three railways and removing the need to switch trains at Jabal Ali. This change will make trips between Centrepoint and UAE Exchange smoother.
Additionally, the Dubai Metro is set to expand, adding more stations in the coming years. By 2030, the Metro will increase from 64 to 96 stations, and by 2040, to 140 stations. This expansion aims to boost public transport use to 45%, reduce carbon emissions, and improve transport efficiency.
