Qatar Airways has been awarded the title of the World's Best Airline, in 2024
AirlineRatings, the sole global website assessing airline safety and services, evaluates airlines based on significant safety and government audits, along with 12 key criteria. These include fleet age, passenger feedback, financial performance, safety and product ratings, innovation, and future fleet plans.
In 2024, Qatar Airways was honored as the Airline of the Year, surpassing previous winners like Air New Zealand from 2023, owing to its exceptional service and innovation. Geoffrey Thomas, AirlineRatings.com’s editor-in-chief, explained, “Qatar Airways excelled in various aspects, particularly in passenger reviews for its business class and economy cabins, leading to its victory.”
Korean Air secured second place, followed by Cathay Pacific Airways in third, Air New Zealand in fourth, and Emirates in fifth.
Additionally, AirlineRatings.com acknowledged airlines in specific categories. Qatar Airways was recognized as the best business class for the fifth consecutive year and also received the best catering award.
