Punjab’s Transport Minister, Bilal Akbar, announced a five-year plan to introduce 3,000 new buses across the province. The plan includes the launch of electric buses in Lahore by the end of this year. Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has approved an initial project to deploy 657 eco-friendly buses.
These buses will be distributed in various cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and others.
Additionally, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced plans to acquire 300 electric buses specifically for Lahore. During a detailed review session, officials confirmed that 330 more electric buses will be introduced in other cities within Punjab as part of the Chief Minister’s 33 special projects.
