The Punjab provincial government has initiated a comprehensive operation to ensure the quality of fuel sold at petrol pumps throughout the province.
This new initiative will involve monthly inspections of all fuel stations to verify compliance with quality standards. The operation is being conducted under the Punjab Environmental Protection Act, underscoring the government’s dedication to environmental conservation and consumer protection.
Staff from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and oil marketing companies will work together to carry out these inspections. The EPA will employ its advanced fuel quality laboratories to perform chemical analyses on fuel samples collected from various petrol stations. This will help identify any discrepancies or substandard products and ensure that the fuel meets the standards set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
