On Monday, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif unveiled a skills development initiative aimed at empowering young individuals. This program is designed to equip them with proficiency in various IT fields including cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, graphic design, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and game development, thereby enhancing their employability prospects.
The launch of the CM’s Skills Development Programme was conducted digitally, with an inauguration ceremony held at the Government Technology College for Women, attended by students.
During her address, the Punjab Chief Minister emphasized the importance of this initiative. “Through this project, we aim to train 4,000 youths across 35 TEVTA institutes situated in different cities,” she stated.
The Punjab government is committed to providing high-quality training in advanced IT courses to 4,000 students annually. This program is expected to scale up gradually, with the overarching objective of extending this opportunity to a total of 40,000 students per year.
Furthermore, the chief minister stressed that offering free training in advanced courses is a fundamental right of the youth, which had been overlooked in the past. Upon successful completion of the courses, students will receive certifications from renowned international organizations such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, and Unity.
