In a recent meeting, senior journalists engaged with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari at the DGPR office in a constructive and friendly setting.
During the discussion, Minister Bukhari addressed various concerns raised by the journalists and clarified details about the Maskan Ravi project. She assured that the project would be completed swiftly under RUDA’s oversight, with no involvement from PJHF.
A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to allocate plots to all full-time media workers, not just journalists, within the Maskan Ravi Scheme. The total number of plots set aside is 3,200, with each plot size increased to 5 marlas to benefit more individuals. Priority will be given to journalists and media workers in Lahore, though those from other cities will receive plots in either Maskan Ravi or their respective districts’ residential schemes.
Minister Bukhari also emphasized that appeals related to the Maskan Ravi project would be evaluated on merit, ensuring that no journalist misses out on their rightful plot. All plots under this initiative will be provided free of charge to eligible media professionals.
