Punjab Government Mandates Online Attendance System for All Departments

The Punjab government has introduced a significant administrative reform by requiring all government departments to adopt an online system for tracking employee attendance and leave. Directed by the Chief Secretary of Punjab, this initiative aims to boost efficiency and transparency within the administrative framework.

Under the new mandate, all government employees will need to log their attendance and manage leave requests through a dedicated digital portal. This shift to an online system is expected to reduce manual errors, cut down on paperwork, and provide real-time updates on attendance and leave status.

In addition, the Chief Secretary has called for the digitization of Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) to enhance performance evaluations and streamline administrative processes.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will oversee the implementation of this new system. PITB will develop the necessary software, provide technical support, and manage the transition to this digital platform.
