By

Sep 9, 2024

The Punjab government has revealed significant updates to the curriculum for Class 9 and Class 11 students, set to take effect from the next academic year.

According to a recent notification by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), the revised curriculum will encompass key subjects including Urdu, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Mathematics.

The aim of these changes is to align educational content with current academic standards and address the evolving needs of students. Notably, the revised curriculum will place a stronger emphasis on Pakistan’s cultural and historical heritage, particularly in subjects like Islamiat and Social Studies.

This initiative seeks to offer students a more relevant and contemporary educational experience. The PCTB is responsible for printing new textbooks that incorporate these updates.

The updated textbooks are expected to be distributed before the start of the new academic year, ensuring that both students and teachers are well-prepared for the revised syllabus. This curriculum overhaul is part of a broader strategy by the Punjab government to enhance the quality of education throughout the region.
