At the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that electric bikes will start being distributed on July 10.

In her speech, CM Nawaz highlighted her government’s achievements during the first 100 days, including a historic tax-free budget with no new taxes for Punjab residents.

She also announced the revival of the laptop scheme with a budget of 10 billion rupees to provide laptops to students and plans to enroll out-of-school children in schools.

For healthcare, she mentioned that public hospitals are offering free medicines and treatment. Additionally, there are new initiatives to support farmers with interest-free loans and subsidies for agricultural machinery.

On April 12, CM Nawaz launched a project to provide 20,000 bikes under the Chief Minister Youth Initiative. This program allows students to buy motorcycles and e-bikes through affordable monthly payments. Male students can pay Rs 11,676 per month, while female students can pay Rs 7,325 per month.

The distribution will be fair, with an equal 50/50 split for male and female students in urban areas. In rural areas, 70% of the bikes will go to male students and 30% to female students.
