PTI Prepares for Lahore Power Show Amid Conditions
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is gearing up for its much-anticipated power show today on Ring Road, Kahna, but it comes with 43 conditions imposed by the district administration.
Following an intervention by the Lahore High Court, the rally was approved to take place at Link Road, Kahna, rather than the initially planned Minar-e-Pakistan. The district administration’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) emphasized the need for stringent safety measures, given the current security concerns and threat alerts.
Tensions have also emerged regarding the rally’s timing. The district administration proposed an end time of 7 PM, while PTI aims to extend it until 11 PM, creating a standoff between the opposition leader and the Deputy Commissioner.
Meanwhile, city authorities have ramped up efforts to prevent PTI supporters from accessing the venue, deploying heavy police presence around the area.
