ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday that he will soon reveal a comprehensive five-year economic plan designed to rejuvenate Pakistan’s economy. This new initiative, termed the “Home-Grown Economic Program,” aims to stimulate growth across various sectors, including agriculture, information technology, and other underdeveloped areas.
Addressing the launch of the Buna-Raast connectivity project in Islamabad, PM Sharif detailed that the program’s broad framework has been shaped through extensive consultations with stakeholders over the past months. He assured that the plan is nearing finalization and is expected to be officially announced within the next week.
“We have put significant effort into crafting this program. I will present it to the public shortly, outlining our vision for the next five years,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also touched on the challenges facing reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the power sector. He emphasized his personal involvement in overseeing the FBR’s digitization efforts and expressed optimism about the potential benefits of ongoing reforms in the power sector.
“There is no quick fix. Success requires relentless hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. I am confident that through our dedicated efforts, we will achieve positive results and secure our rightful place among the nations of the world,” PM Sharif concluded.
