Pilots Advised to be Extra Cautious at Islamabad Airport

In light of the ongoing monsoon rains, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an urgent advisory to pilots operating at Islamabad International Airport, urging them to exercise heightened caution during landing and take-off.

This directive comes amid concerns about the potential hazards of slippery runways, particularly on Runway No. 18L, which has been affected by the heavy downpours.

The advisory highlights the critical need for vigilance during flight operations, as the unpredictable weather conditions in the region have increased the risk of planes skidding on wet surfaces.

The CAA’s alert follows a series of intense monsoon rains that have swept across Islamabad and other parts of Punjab, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall.

In addition to Islamabad, the monsoon showers have also hit other major cities in Punjab, including Rawalpindi and Lahore, where several neighborhoods such as Shadman, Gulberg, and Model Town have experienced significant rainfall, providing much-needed relief from the summer heat.
