Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced new rules for photography inside Masjid al-Haram to protect the sanctity and privacy of pilgrims.
The updated guidelines, shared on the Ministry’s official Facebook page, detail the dos and don’ts for taking pictures within the holy site.
Visitors are instructed to keep a safe distance from the moving crowd when taking photos. They are also asked to avoid capturing private moments or sacred rituals without the permission of those involved.
The guidelines emphasize respecting fellow pilgrims’ privacy, advising visitors not to take photos of others without their consent.
The Ministry also encouraged pilgrims to focus more on their prayers and religious activities rather than spending too much time on photography.
With these measures, the Saudi government aims to uphold the dignity of Masjid al-Haram, ensuring that pilgrims can perform their spiritual duties without distractions.
