PIA to Suspend Operations During Eid Holidays
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced its holiday schedule for Eid-ul-Azha 2024. All PIA offices nationwide will be closed from June 17 to June 19 for the holiday.
A circular from PIA states that while administrative offices will be closed, employees working in shifts and those in the operations department will continue to work according to their schedules to ensure essential services continue.
This decision follows the federal government’s announcement of three official holidays for Eid-ul-Azha, approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after a proposal from the Cabinet Division.
Including the preceding weekend—Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, which are also public holidays—there will be a total of five consecutive days off for Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. This extended break allows citizens to spend ample time with their families and loved ones.
The Prime Minister’s approval of the Cabinet Division’s proposal has finalized the holiday schedule, providing clarity for both public and private sector employees across the country.
