A Karachi-bound Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Jeddah made an emergency landing shortly after takeoff due to a technical fault, ARY News reported, citing sources.
According to sources, PIA flight PK-732 had to make an emergency landing at Jeddah Airport after the cabin pressure suddenly dropped.
Sources reported that Captain Ahad Hussaini skillfully managed to land the plane at Jeddah Airport, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew on board.
In such emergency situations, the aircraft must descend from 35,000 feet to 10,000 feet within just 4 minutes to prevent the loss of cabin pressure, which could result in the death of passengers and crew due to oxygen deprivation, sources added.
In a separate incident, an international flight made an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after a passenger’s health deteriorated mid-flight.
The flight was en route to Islamabad from Muscat when a passenger suffered a heart attack. The pilot requested and received permission for an emergency landing at Karachi Airport from Air Traffic Control (ATC).
Upon landing and medical examination, it was determined that the passenger had already passed away, sources said.
