Petrol Prices Set to Drop Significantly from June 16

By

Jun 14, 2024

Petroleum prices in Pakistan are expected to drop starting June 16. Sources from oil marketing companies predict a decrease of about 9 rupees per liter for petrol. This reduction follows the recent budget announcement and aims to relieve consumers from high fuel costs.

Diesel prices may also go down by 4 rupees per liter, while kerosene could see a reduction of 2 rupees per liter.

The final prices will be decided by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) based on global oil prices from June 13 and 14. These international trends play a crucial role in determining the new rates for fuel in Pakistan.

The government’s move to lower fuel prices is aimed at reducing financial strain on the public and boosting economic activity by cutting transportation and production costs.

These expected price cuts are likely to benefit sectors such as agriculture, industry, and transportation, which heavily rely on affordable fuel.
