Mentors to Receive Rs 1.5 Crore Over Three Years for Champions Cup Role

In a strategic move to bolster cricket talent in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that mentors for the new Champions Cup will each receive a lucrative compensation package of Rs 1.5 crore over a three-year period. This translates to an annual payment of Rs 50 lakh.

Enhancing Talent Development with Renowned Cricketers

The Champions Cup is part of PCB’s initiative to enhance domestic cricket talent. Former cricket stars Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Malik have been appointed as mentors. Their role will involve identifying and nurturing emerging talent throughout the tournament.

Each team in the Champions Cup will be supported by a 10-member staff, including a head coach, vice coach, manager, and other essential roles to ensure thorough development and management.

Addressing Skill Gaps and Strengthening the National Team

The PCB is keen on addressing the current shortage of quality spinners in Pakistan. With Saqlain Mushtaq’s expertise, the board hopes to fill this gap and further enhance the cricketing prowess of the national team. By leveraging the experience of these legendary cricketers, the PCB aims to refine and support new talent, thereby strengthening the future of Pakistani cricket.
