Pakistan’s Sports Goods Exports Climb to $61.9 Million

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s sports goods exports have seen a positive uptick, reaching $61.982 million in the first two months of the current fiscal year (2024-25), marking a 4.27 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports during July-August 2024-25 rose from $59.442 million during the corresponding months of 2023-24. Notably, football exports surged by 8.35 percent, increasing from $35.728 million last year to $38.713 million this year.

However, the export of gloves experienced a slight decline, dropping by 1.38 percent from $9.429 million last year to $9.299 million this year. Similarly, exports of other sports goods decreased by 2.21 percent, falling from $14.285 million last year to $13.970 million this year.

On a year-on-year basis, sports goods exports recorded a decrease of 2.18 percent in August 2024, with exports totaling $32.624 million compared to $33.350 million in August 2023. Despite some fluctuations, the overall growth in the early months of the fiscal year reflects a resilient sports goods sector in Pakistan.
