Pakistan's Meat Exports Soar to $512 Million Amid Strong Demand

By

Jul 31, 2024

Pakistan’s meat and meat products exports reached $512 million, a 20% increase from $426 million the previous year, thanks to a 24% rise in export volume, totaling 123,515 tonnes. This growth reflects strong international demand, aided by the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, making exports more competitive.

Despite a 3% drop in the average global meat price to $4.1 per kilogram, mainly due to lower prices in the UAE, the export volume remained steady in other regions.

This success highlights Pakistan’s potential to grow its agricultural and food markets internationally, even amid economic challenges. The increasing export volume indicates that Pakistan’s meat industry is well-positioned to meet the rising global demand, particularly in markets that value the quality and affordability of Pakistani products.
