After Seema Haider’s famous cross-border romance, another Pakistani woman, Mehvish, has traveled to India to marry her lover, according to Indian media.

The Indian Express reports that 25-year-old Mehvish crossed into India and arrived in Bikaner, Rajasthan, to be with her partner, Rehman, whom she met on Facebook.

Previously married and divorced in Lahore, Mehvish has two sons. She connected with Rehman, who works in Kuwait, after her divorce. They proposed to each other online and married via video call in March 2022. They also had a traditional ceremony during Mehvish’s Umrah pilgrimage in 2023.

Mehvish traveled from Islamabad to the Wagah border on July 25, entering India on a 45-day tourist visa. Rehman’s family welcomed her and took her to their village, Pithisar.
