Pakistani Talent Wins Medals at International Maths Olympiad

At the 65th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 2024 in Bath, UK, Pakistani students won silver and bronze medals. Razi Hasan Mansoor from Karachi claimed silver, and Muhammad Ahmad Bhatti from Karachi School won bronze. Muhammad Mehd Arif from Lahore’s Sundus School received an “Honorable Mention.”

The event, held from July 11 to 22, saw teams from the US, China, and South Korea winning top positions. India ranked fourth with Aditya Mangodi achieving the best performance for the Indian team, winning a gold medal.

The Pakistani team, trained at COMSATS University Lahore and mentored by Prof Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Dr. Hani Shakir, participated under the STEM Career Program by HEC and PIEAS University. This success follows another achievement where Pakistani students won bronze medals at the International Biology Olympiad in Kazakhstan.
