Pakistani Rupee Gains Against US Dollar
KARACHI: On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by Rs 0.5 against the US dollar (USD) in interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.68 compared to the previous day’s Rs 278.73.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market were Rs 279.30 and Rs 280.40, respectively.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported that the price of the Euro increased by Rs 0.44, closing at Rs 304.85, up from Rs 304.41. The Japanese yen also saw a rise of Rs 0.1, closing at Rs 1.91. The British Pound appreciated by Rs 0.15, ending at Rs 353.94, compared to Rs 353.79 the previous day.
In contrast, the Emirates Dirham decreased by Rs 0.1 to close at Rs 75.87, while the Saudi Riyal saw an increase of Rs 0.1, closing at Rs 74.25.
